Love this :: eBible

I had a wee chat via email with Geoff LaFleur who is one of the gang over at ((eBible.com))... He asked me to check out his fab resource for searching the Bible and I have to say I love it and use it.

Sure its very web 2.0 with its tags and its ability to bookmark passages... but that's what makes it stand out. Its like a modern concordance that you have some input to... which is something I find very appealing.

You can set your translation of preference (The Message is my fav flavour btw) and when you search for text... you can follow the gist using the Bible Outline feature which helps you navigate the Good Word. The folder/tree functionality acts similar to My Computer or Windows Explorer in Microsoft Windows. I think it works well although its not the most compelling of rationales to follow Windoze :-)

I find the UI very intuitive... but then I get this kind of app. It takes a wee minute to get to grips with... but once you do... you'll be off and running.

I have to say I don't agree with some of the tags and the adverts are very evangelical american and unsuitable for someone like me who is kind of post-evangelical and not american... but these are minor points. eBible is fast becoming a go to resource for me for when I am preparing thoughts.

Geoff... the kind soul that he is... has given me 25 invites for the beta (they are still adding functionality... as I said very web 2.0) and I would love to share this resource with you. Please leave a comment with your email address (use [at] and [dot] in the comment) and I'll send you on an invite. You can then feel free to simply expand and click around...

G'on yersel Geoff! we need more apps like this.
