Michael's box

Apparently the 'box' my friend Michael is thumping in the picture above is a real instrument... called a 'cajón'. It is, according to Wikipedia, a 'box-shaped percussion instrument originally from Peru, played by slapping the front face (generally thin plywood) with the hands'.

You learn something everyday.

Apparently... you CAN polish a turd!

I love the phrase you can't polish a turd... its like a cruder version of a leopard can't change its spots. Thing is... its a truism... you can put all the gloss and spin on it... but at the end of the day, its still a turd.
