Remember the first time you heard Apex Twin?
Remember The First Time you Heard Aphex Twin? from Double J on Vimeo.
This made me smile ... although I do think the boy with the dreadlocks was taking the Mickey.

Music is my life

This evening my daughter exacted her revenge and snapped a picture of me ... catching 40 winks ... after launching the latest album on weareallghosts.
It got me thinking ... morbidly, but thinking nonetheless ... that this is the way I'd love to go out: headphones on, listening to an LP (it was the jazz-funk of Spyro Gyra, if you are interested) ... with my MacBookPro on my knee, wearing a band tee (Mogwai, in this instance), and my iPhone & iPod within reach.
Silly, I know, but this photo does sum me up. Music is my life. Well ... its not my whole life but a big chunk of it.

15 Years of Gonz and Adidas
I saw this last night on Thrasher's website ... and wanted to share it. Mark "Gonz" Gonzales is one of *the* most interesting characters in skateboarding ... and this video celebrates his 15 year relationship with Adidas.
Enjoy.

Facebook's Pirate English

I'm not the biggest fan of Facebook... but keep it in my social media arsenal because of the people I have connected on it.
This evening my daughter Dayna made it so much more valuable... when she changed the default language to "English (Pirate)". Their attention to detail is tremendous... "arr!" replaces "like" for example.
To change your language... goto the wee dropdown beside 'home' on the top right... then 'account settings'... then 'language' to change it.
I just wished they would exercise this level of attention to their privacy settings.
Thanks Dayna!

This made me laugh... 'Lovecraftian Sketch' from Burnistoun
I am a huge fan of H. P. Lovecraft and his unique fiction. This sketch is extremely funny for anyone with even a passing interest in his writing... especially the Cthulu Mythos to which it refers.
It made me laugh!

Thanks @ska_dad.

It's nice to be nice!
I was blown away this evening when I got a wee message on FB from Heatherlyn saying she'd featured a quote from my post on her album 'storydwelling'. I thought she may have mentioned me in text but to see my quote as a banner was so cool.
If you haven't already checked out her album... this is what I had to say about it :: link

I have been 13... Gurdonark goes looking for Christian metal
...when i finish a session of trying out Christian metal bands, I head immediately to the most melodic, atmospheric, pad-pleasant ambient music I can find. Like the heroine in the movie "Big", I have been 13, and it was hard enough the first time.Gurdonark
I loved this post by my friend Robert aka Gurdonark on his quest to find free & legal downloads from the "Christian metal" genre.
Very funny and very to-the-point... encapsulating why I'm not a fan "contemporary" Christian music.
Bang on Robert!
