love all, serve all

While in Ediburgh on Friday, I walked passed the Hard Rock Cafe on George St. I have to say I have never been to a Hard Rock Cafe but I do love their motto and was kind of curious. Did a wee bit of goolestigation and found out that the motto came from one of the founding members, Isaac Tigrett.
While 'Love All, Serve All' was the guiding gospel at HRC, it was 'Help Ever Hurt Never' at HOB. Tigrett's commitment to upholding human values at the workplace resulted from the influence that his spiritual guide, Sri Sathya Sai Baba, exerted on him.

It is such a great phrase and reminds me of Matthew 22:36-40 (The Message translation) where Jesus puts the Jewish Law into context and, more importantly, includes God into our reckonning:
"Teacher, which command in God's Law is the most important?"

Jesus said, ""Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.' This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: "Love others as well as you love yourself.' These two commands are pegs; everything in God's Law and the Prophets hangs from them."
Pretty powerful and yet so simple.
