Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand...

If you've gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care--then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don't push your way to the front; don't sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don't be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.
Philippians 2:1-4 (The Message)
Mike from Dev4Gamers used this verse on a recent podcast... It made sense as a follow up to the weekend... and in fact over the last few months.

Its not about political advantage or the betterment of me and mine... its about the collective us and how we, as a body, move forward together. We need to forget ourselves and lend a helping hand to everyone... not just those who are part of us... but our fellow man/ woman. Its about action... its about showing/ demonstrating a new way... a new idea.

Think different today and forget yourself long enough to lend a helping hand...because, as the Polyphonic Spree's album says, together we're heavy
